Description: This small roadside pull-off and boat ramp on Alligator Harbor features an information kiosk on the rich seagrass beds of the aquatic preserve and clam farming. Eagles and Osprey are frequently seen roosting in trees along the water’s edge. The tall stakes in the water mark clam aquaculture sites. Clam farming is increasing in importance in this area and seems to offer a promising alternative to other seafood harvesting practices that are in decline. These clams have a wonderful flavor and can be purchased at seafood houses on the Byway in Panacea.
